Document retention

Your Board of Directors carries out the association’s governing documents and applicable obligations. Neighborhood Connections connects that responsibility to the people, information, and everyday workflows that help you follow through.

Built for a national HOA ecosystem. One connected foundation for boards, management companies, homeowners, and vendors—with workflows configured to the association type, location, governing documents, and professional guidance.

NC supports the work behind compliance. Your board, manager, and counsel determine the applicable rules and whether a particular action satisfies them.

Why these workflows matter · Regulatory examples and sources

Selected examples reviewed October 25, 2026. This is not an exhaustive national rules database or an automatically updated legal feed. Local requirements and governing documents must be reviewed for each association.

New Jersey · Community associations

DCA regulations address association responsibilities, executive board elections, and meeting procedures. Its association program also identifies financial-record access and dispute resolution as owner-rights topics.

N.J.A.C. 5:26, Subchapter 8 ↗NJ DCA association guidance ↗The DCA compilation reviewed includes amendments through April 2025; confirm subsequent changes before relying on a requirement.
Florida · Chapter 720 HOAs

Section 720.303 addresses fiduciary responsibilities, meetings, official records, budgets, and reporting. Associations with 100 or more parcels must provide specified documents through a website or downloadable app. Member online voting under 720.317 has consent, authorization, and system requirements. Board voting is distinct from member voting; email is not a substitute for a lawful board vote.

Florida Statutes §720.303 ↗Florida Statutes §720.317 ↗Chapter 720 applies to covered HOAs. Condominium associations have a different statutory framework.

A patented connected foundation

Purpose-built to bring the HOA ecosystem together.

U.S. Patent No. 11,354,443 B2 describes a customizable property-management platform connecting user roles, communications, documents, service requests, payments, and commerce. NC builds its board experience around that connected foundation.

Patent reference: U.S. 11,354,443 B2. See the published claims for scope. Compliance depends on the applicable rules, configuration, and association actions.

A connected workflow supports oversight. A qualified professional determines building condition.

Champlain Towers South partially collapsed in Surfside, Florida, on June 24, 2021. That tragedy is an important context for the need to connect property records, professional findings, funding decisions, and action. NC is presented here as organizational support, not as a system that diagnoses structural conditions or guarantees prevention.

Florida law requires milestone inspections for covered condominium and cooperative buildings, and structural integrity reserve studies for qualifying associations. Requirements depend on building characteristics and the applicable law. These requirements are not a universal mandate for every Chapter 720 HOA or every community nationally. Local inspection programs may add obligations.

Sources reviewed October 25, 2026. Confirm applicability, deadlines, notices, reserve requirements, professional qualifications, and local rules with the association’s manager, counsel, and building professionals. The statutory obligation and management contract determine each party’s responsibilities.
